Matcha bamboo spoon - the perfect dosage for your matcha


Traditionally, matcha tea is taken with a special narrow, slightly curved bamboo spoon - the chashaku. This is the perfect dosage for your high-quality tea powder. You simply take a slightly heaped tip of the Chashaku and fill the matcha powder into your tea bowl. If you fill this up with hot water, you have the perfect mixture. But of course you can vary the filling quantity a bit depending on your taste.

By the way, you should never clean your Chashaku with water, just rub it with a dry cloth. In Japan, the bamboo spoon plays an important role in the art of the tea ceremony. Many tea masters even carve their chashaku themselves!
